Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents his first championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from that period of that year.

Success also means Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

His retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He saved four early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
